The Secondary School Curriculum in Science

Description

This course examines the secondary school science curriculum from the specialist's standpoint and explores the process of transforming it for teaching and learning. General principles for developing a science curriculum are discussed; connections to state and national standards are established; and resources for teaching are analyzed and evaluated. A field work component of a minimum of twenty (20) hours in included. Not open to students who have taken EDS 318 or equivalent.This program is for individuals who do not yet hold New York State initial teacher certification in secondary science.
